Last Year Mistake Gina Ciocca Books

This book is terrible the entire book is just boring stereotypic high school drama. The popular guy and the unpopular shy girl. Only they were friends and he abandoned her to hang out with his new friends that disliked her. Then she moves and suddenly can be confident and becomes popular. Hero is horrible hooks up with two girls that are nasty to the main character while he claims to be in love with her. Tells her about it the day before she leaves she is obviously upset that he didn’t tell her and that she saw him with other women. His excuse is that they meant nothing to him. She tells him about the rudeness of one of them and he replies that if she told him he won’t have bothered with her again. Them he hook ups with her again hours later after professing his love to her because she rejected him because of the friendship and her leaving. A couple year later he moves to where she moved. With the intention of getting with her. When she has a boyfriend he decide to start seeing and hooking up with one of her best friends when he knows he has feeling for her. As if he could have hook up with any other girl. Gets drunk and cheats on girl friend by kissing the main character. The main character is also horrible in typical ya fashion she slut shames. Her friend and the hero’s girlfriend is also horrible and play up stereo types about men. Think he is gay because he doesn’t immediately have sex with her. Apparently because no teenager waits or at least no teenage guy waits. She is the stereotypical sexually active best friend but this time she hooks up
With the love interest. They main characters only get together in the last few pages. Book is definitely not for younger audiences and is filled with sex.

Last Year Mistake Gina Ciocca Books Reviews

Good condition and I liked the story.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Such a cute teen romance. If you have read any of Gina Ciocca’s other books, you would know her love stories are pretty predictable, but they always have some type of unexpected twist. If you love cheesy romance novels, I totally recommend it! Definitely one of my favorite books!!
I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. The writing was lovely, and the chapters alternating between "then" and "now" really upped the suspense. I needed to know what happened between these two kids who care about each other so much. They are kids who make some silly choices and assumptions, but it's so REAL.
This was exactly the book I needed. It kept me wanting to know what the end would be like the whole time. Highly recommend hope the author comes out with another book soon!
Well written, and with a story that is memorable! Too many times books have storylines that are forgettable... this isn't one of them. A, friends to (will be) lovers, and a second chance romance. I found myself ticked off with the main characters, which is my way of telling you the author did a great job. I'd love to see a follow-up or at very least an epilogue for these characters.
This is a great summer read, and should be added to the TBR pile of anyone who enjoys YA.

LYM is a love story, and it comes at the story from two timelines. The first, the past, is presented in alternating chapters with the second, the present. And yet, both of them spiral around each other, much like the characters, being drawn together as moths to a flame. Closer and closer things get the further into the book you read.

Working the past in through alternating chapters is something thatches a lot of skill, and Gina has mastered that.

I'm definitely looking forward to more of Gina's writing.
Man, while an anticlimactic ending... I was hoping after all the annoying back-and-forth that I would at least get some sort of awesome, cheesy, mushy, romantic ending, but it was so blah.

The cheating part didn't bother me as much as it did some other reviewers... I guess because it was a high school romance and, come on, high school romances are ridiculous anyway.

Anyway, if you're going to write a cheesy, predictable book, at least go all-out romance and give me a cavity with the cuteness. It's so much worse to try and pretend like the book was meant to be serious.

Although I didn't hate the book, I wouldn't recommend it.
